Our work gets results.

The English Learner Group’s methods and strategies have been proven to yield significant growth in student development and achievement.

Research-backed Effectiveness

In 2020, a doctoral research study was completed by Dr. Lauren Lemons-Odell at California State University, Fresno. Entitled High Yield Professional Development: A Case Study Examining Job Embedded Professional Development for Teachers of Emergent Bilinguals, the dissertation provided an analysis and examination of the efficacy of The English Learner Group’s work, highlighting what we have done specifically with our clients districts and schools.

The takeaway: our work gets results.

Principles we implement in our work

  • Professional development is embedded within the teacher’s learning in a day-to-day context of their own classroom.

  • It is subject-content focused.

  • The focus is on student learning.

  • It has active participation by all involved.

  • It is aligned and coherent with a district and site mission, vision, direction.

  • It is collaborative and collective in nature.

  • It is ongoing and sustainable.

All of the above elements are integral aspects of The English Learner Group’s daily work in service to our client districts.
