The English Learner Group offers instruction and coaching for teachers in order to improve student achievement. The focus of the instruction and coaching include:
Services and Support Available in Preschool through Adult
- Direct Professional Development
English Language Development, SDAIE, Content Area Instruction for English Learners
- Differentiated Professional Development
- Follow-Up Coaching and Support
Working together as a school/district team to improve achievement
- Professional Learning Community (PLC) Coaching and Support
- Data Team Coaching and Support
- Classroom Lesson Demonstration
The above elements of professional development will focus on increasing linguistic and academic advancement.
The coaches assigned to teacher professional development have each had many years of classroom teaching experience, as well as teacher coaching experience.
